She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Messenger and Mable Messenger; her former husband Robert Hathaway; her husband James Hamel; her siblings, Burt Wheeler, Barbara Arbour, Marion Bailey, Hazel Bernice Willette and Pauline Latlip; her stepdaughter Patricia "Ann" Lacasse; her great grandchild Paitn; her nephew Mark Bailey; and her cousin Bobby Newell.
She is survived by: her sons, Scott Hathaway (Teresa) of Gardiner and Stacy Hamel (Geraldine) of Palermo; her stepchildren, James Hamel (Vera) of Jacksonville, Gregory Hamel (Judy) of Dunn Lorring, Virginia, Steve Hamel (Charlene) of Charlotte and Celeste Derosier of Manchester; her grandchildren, Ashley Hathaway, Steven Hamel (Heidi) and Ryan Hamel (Marissa Chamberlain); her great grandchildren, Nyelle, Trewyn, Lincoln, Levi and Paislee; her sister Priscilla Bailey of Augusta; and her caregivers, Amy, Stephanie and Craig.
