He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Lyman and Barbara Lyman; his wife Sally Paffendorf of Newburgh, NY.; his brother Phil; his sister-in-law Jeaninne Lyman; and his nieces, Tammy Lyman, Margaret Gile and Sandra Jackman.

He is survived by: his children, Barbara Kirby (Steve Morin) of North Waterboro and Jamie Lyman (Amy Lamarche) of Bradford; his sister Ada; his brother-in-law George Jackman of Jay; his close friend Suzanne Bowen of Oxford; his grandchildren, Cameron, Evan Kirby, James, Andrew and Victoria Lyman; his great grandchild Silas Kirby; his nieces, Donna Barbato and Debbie Fournier; and his nephew David Gile.
