He was predeceased by: his parents, Marie Louise (Plante) and Romeo Dumais; and his siblings, Jane, Cecile, Pauline, Richard, Rudolph and Joe.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Laplante; his children, Robert, Marc, John, Elaine Dumais and Nancy Dumais; and his grandchildren, Roy James Wandell, Amber Lussier (Wandell), Robert, Laura Broski (Dumais), Vincent, Alex, Zach, Cameron, Julia Marquis and Aiden Abbott. He is also survived by twelve great grandchildren.
