With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Maxwell McCormack in Orono, Maine, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Maxwell left this world on March 11, 2025 at the age of 90, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Maxwell McCormack and Bonnie McCormack (Batson) of Carbondale, IL.. He is survived by: his wife Lynne Marie Lavoie; and his children, Patricia Elwell (Brian), Patrick McCormack (Jackie) and Kelly Houseman (David). He is also survived by four grandchildren and five stepgrandchildren.

“I am so sorry to hear of Max's death. He was a real friend and one of the most talented and brightest forester/scientist that I ever met. He was an inspiration to many of us. When I got started in the Christmas tree business, I hired Max as a consultant to help us get started. His advice was incredibly helpful. I always enjoyed talking to him whenever we met at different forestry events. I will miss that big grin and sense of humor. Max had a ton of common sense. God bless! Jim Robbins”
