She was predeceased by: her parents, Otho Sr and Mona Knowles Sr (Barrett); her former husbands, Winston "Dick" and John Captain; her brother Otho Knowles Jr; her sister-in-law June Knowles; and also Retired Captain.
She is survived by: her husband Dick; her daughter Bonnie (Pastor Steven Hersey) of Ellsworth; her granddaughter Angela (Jared Young) of Ellsworth; her brother Donald Knowles of Lamoine; her sisters-in-law, Eloise Knowles Collette of Bingham and Sheila Knowles of Lamoine; and also Vivian Wass of Lamoine. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Birdsacre, c/o Stanwood Wildlife Sanctuary, PO Box 289, Ellsworth, Maine, 04605, in Carmen's memory.
