He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Hannelore Burr (Paefgen); his children, Renee Parks (Burr) and Andrew Burr; his grandchildren, Juliana Parks, Megan Burr and Sean Parks; and his siblings, James Burr (Jim) and Catherine Lauhon (Burr).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Robert Burr's memory to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a charitable 503c organization which helps America's heroes by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and by building custom-designed smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders.
