He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Merritt and Evelyn Hall Merritt; and his brother Arthur Merritt. He is survived by: his wife Ruth (Bernard); his children, Laurie, Mitchell and Michael; his grandchildren, Lindsey, Paul, Patricia and Michael; and his great grandchildren, Logan and Olivia.
