It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Earle Burden of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, born in Bath, Maine, who passed away on December 26, 2020, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Alexander Burden and Evelyn Burden (Redlon); his brothers, Bruce and David; his wife Wendy Blake-Burden; his children, Heidi (Jesse) of Rockland, Benjamin (Jill) of Bath, Dan (Heather) of Melbourne, Fla., Chris (Christina) of St. Petersburg, Fla., Adam (Allison) of Tampa, Fla. and Singapore; his grandchildren, Ruby, Alex, Lauren, Isabel, Abigail, Adam, Anne-Marie, Jack, Luke and Grace; his great grandchildren, Matilda, Ena and Ray; his niece Niobe; and his nephew Jeremy.

Donations to Maine Maritime Museum in his memory would be much appreciated.

While you we’re not always easy to work with, I found you always willing to discuss or debate my ideas. Your joy of talking about the history of the area became my interest. I started my genealogy and found my own Maine heritage. Thank you for being there through a very difficult time of my life. You never new exactly how difficult but you were there.”
