He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Birch and Janet Birch (Lincoln); his wife Jean; and his son Peter. He is survived by: his daughters, Patty MacDonald (Richard) of Wells, Deb Jalbert (Paul) of North Berwick and Karen Birch (Brad Hughes) of North Berwick; his grandchildren, Amanda Westman and Brianne Westman (James Doucette); his great grandchildren, Anika and Wesley; his grandsons, Dan Jalbert (Samantha Novak) and Jon Jalbert (Janet); his great grandchildren, Payton and Chase; and his granddaughter Sarah Jalbert (Joe Daigle).

Those who wish may make memorial donations to the First Congregational Church of North Berwick or to Fraser-Ford School at Waypoint (formerly Waban).
