He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Arthur Ylonen and Dorothy Ylonen (Smith); his children, Richard Ylonen (Lisa) of Waterboro, Nora Ylonen of Acton, Thomas Ylonen of Florida, Robert Ylonen (Christine) of Arundel and James Ylonen of Oxford; and his grandchildren, Sarah, Susan, Sharon, Jesse, Rachel, Steven, Hannah Tom, Kayla, Dorothy, Kastara, Robert Jr., Heather, Jamie, Tina Marie, Daniel, Isaiah and Isabelle. He was also cherished by many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Salvation Army.
