He was predeceased by: his parents, William Cates and Georgia Cates; and his sister Jane Arsenault. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Cates (Williams) of Norridgewock; his children, David of Norridgewock and Lisa Walton (Ricky) of Hartford; and his aunt Geneva Fall of Skowhegan. He is also survived by several nieces, grandnieces.
