He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Long and Lillian Long (Garnett); his son Gay; and his siblings, Lawrence, Robert and Joan.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Long (Bennett) of Newport; his children, Stephen, Elmer, Jr. and Patricia; and his siblings, Douglas and Gertrude. He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Due to COViD-19, the family asks that attendees remain in their vehicles.
