He was predeceased by: his parents, Byron C. Wiers and Jannie Wiers (Bubar); his wife Marilyn MacLauchan; and his siblings, Kenneth, Winfred, Alfred and Opal Carpenter.

He is survived by: his children, Michael (Libby) of St. Albans, Rebecca "Becky" of Palmyra and Stephen (Buffy) of Cambridge; his brother Dean Wiers of Lewiston; and his close friend Kerri Berry. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

“I remember going with my parents every year to visit uncle barney and aunt marilyn at the farm. He took me into the barn to see the cows and he pointed to a cow that was giving birth! I was in awe! He was very sweet to me. And sitting with aunt jainie and aunt marilyn in the kitchen. Such nice memories for a little girl. My deepest sympathies , marie wiers”
