He was predeceased by: his wife Geraldine Twombly; and his brothers, Robert Twombly and Maj Richard Twombly (Ret). He is survived by: his children, Karen Kennedy (Richard), Gail Benson (John), Deborah Leblanc, Michael Twombly, David Twombly (Joanna), Donna Donnelly (James), Cheryl Tessier and Kim Twombly (Matt); and his brother Donald Twombly (Linette). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Camp Sunshine, Casco, ME or Southern Maine Agency on Aging, Biddeford, ME.

“My wife Rhonda and I have known Bernie since we joined the neighborhood in 1993. We especially got to enjoy a lot of time with Bernie during our first 15 years or so here. He spent many years involved in our community as a Board member and Committee activities. He was always found to be in good spirits and a gracious gentleman. We shall sorely miss Bernie. Bob and Rhonda Tellarini”
