He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Patten and Lillian Patten (Matters); his siblings, Mary Guptill, Maurice "Junior" Patten and Raymond Patten; his daughter Jamie Compton; and his granddaughter Alison Moon.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn "Cookie" Dunbar; his sons, James "Putt" Patten, Jr. (Pam) of Trenton, John Patten (Barbara) of Eastbrook and Joseph Patten of Mount Vernon, NY; his grandchildren, Sara, Tracey, Lyndsy, Mallory, Jason, Joshua and Jaret; and his great grandchildren, Camryn, Mikey, Kindle and Harrison. He is also survived by his loving wife of nearly 69 years, Cookie, who was the love of his life.
