He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Mercier and Lauretta Mercier (Leclair); his siblings, Roger, Raymond Robert, Alfred Jr. and Ruth D'Amour; and his grandsons, Daniel Philip Mercier and Derek Paul Mercier.

He is survived by: his wife Aline Fortin; his sister Jackie LaFrance; his sons, Donald and Daniel Mercier; his daughters-in-law, Suzanne and Claudia Mercier; his grandsons, Craig, Timothy Mercier and Colby Major; his great grandchild James Major; his friends, Bert and Pat Labonte; and also Kris.
