Ora Lyons Obituary
East Millinocket – Ora S. Lyons, 81, passed peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 1, 2011 from a Millinocket hospital. He was born February 16, 1930 in East Millinocket, the son of Everette and Erma (Powers) Lyons. Ora grew up in the area, and worked for Great Northern Paper Company in East Millinocket for 39 years, retiring in 1986.
He enjoyed hunting, but was truly passionate about fishing, a pastime he enjoyed immensely. Ora will be remembered as a loving family man by those who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elaine (McLaughlin) Lyons of East Millinocket; two children, Donna Jean Soper and her husband David of Dedham, and Garold Lyons and his fiancé Patricia Madson of North Tonawanda, New York; five grandchildren, Aaron Lyons and his fiance Erin Salmen; Jason Lyons, Cody Lyons, Mia Ippoliti-Lenfest and her husband Ryan, and Joshua A. Soper; ten great grandchildren Alina Jean Lenfest, Trinity Lyons, Emma Lyons, Tyler Salmen, Neal Lyons, Gavin Lyons, Zane Lopez, Michael Kennedy, Lyric Palmer, and Mataya Spirit Gerdom; two nephews, Pete and Prince Lyons; a niece, Jean Moore; and several other extended relatives.
In addition to his parents, Ora was predeceased by two brothers, Fay Lyons and his wife Florence, Ray Lyons and his wife Evelyn, and a sister, Pauline Beathem and her husband Harold. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Sunday, December 4 at the Lamson Funeral Home, 17 Western Ave., East Millinocket.
Funeral services will be held 10 A.M. Monday, December 5 at the Calvary Temple Assembly of God, 2 Orchard St., East Millinocket with the Rev. Regginal Adams, pastor, officiating. Spring interment will be at the East Millinocket Cemetery.
