He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Levesque and Roseanne Levesque (Pigeon); his wife Doris; and his grandson B. J. Hale. He is survived by: his children, Linda Hale, Barbara Brown (Terry), Sherry DeWitt (Ben), John Levesque Jr. (Ruth), Allen Levesque (Kim), Tammy Dewley (Dirk) and Timothy Levesque (Jen Cullen); and his close friend Dick Berry. He is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
