She was predeceased by : her husband Willard Simpson; and her granddaughter Shannon Walker. She is survived by : her siblings, Keith Tingley and Eska Currier. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was born in Washburn and raised in Presque Isle, Maine, where she found joy in her work, believing it to be her contribution to her family and community.
