He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Scarponi and Virginia Scarponi; his brother Bruce; and his grandchildren, Ryan and Cassandra.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his daughters, Kathie Wentzell, Karen Sanecchiaro (Robert), Joann Scarponi, Julie Curley (Sean), Kristina Scarponi and Jennifer Scarponi; his grandchildren, Lauren, Meaghan of Patrick, RJ, James, Sean, Joey, Brittney and Zachary; and his great grandchildren, Caitlin, William, Natalie, Audrey, Elaina and Wyatt. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
