He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Franklin and Doris Doughty (Hansen); and his siblings, Linwood, Gary Doughty and Patricia Mahn.
He is survived by: his wife Edith M. Doughty of Fort Fairfield; his sons, Darryl E. Jr. (Gail Doughty), David (Brenda Doughty) and Dennis (Samantha Doughty); his grandchildren, Ranier Henderson of Presque Isle, Nathaniel Doughty of Limestone, Brandon Doughty (Robin) of Mapleton, Ashlee Doughty of Limestone, Devon Doughty (Joshua Paige) of Brewer, Emma Doughty of Fort Fairfield and Krissy Chasse of Presque Isle; his great grandchildren, Blaze, Teagen, Greyson and Persephone; his sisters, Janet Owens of Fort Fairfield, Virginia Cote of Fort Fairfield and Joanne Wilcox of Fort Fairfield; and his sisters-in-law, Ethel Reno of Kalamazoo, MI, Mildred Maxim of Palm Coast, FL and Gladys Donovan of Fort Fairfield. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
