He was predeceased by: his parents, Efrain Torres and Martalina Calle; and his siblings, Apolinar and Oliva. He is survived by: his wife Blanca Ines; his children, Luz-Dary (Barlow), Robert Gabriel (Lopes), Nadia Sameth, Gabriel Efrain and Alan José; his grandchildren, Anysia, Aaron, Mila, Gabriel, Valencia, Julian, Thalia, Lareina, Yocianna and Darwin; his great grandchildren, Victoria and Juliana; his sisters, Luz Alba Martinez and Sylvia Torres of Velez; and his cousin Colombia. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
