He was predeceased by: his parents, William McDonough and Mary McDonough; his wives, Claire and Ann; and his sister Janet Anderson.
He is survived by: his siblings, James McDonough and Rosemary Abele; his children, William McDonough III (Maurine), David McDonough (Katy), Thomas McDonough (Kerin) and Jamey Heiss; his stepchildren, Thomas York (Jennifer), Louda York, Linda Chance (John) and William York; his grandchildren, Cameron and Peter McDonough; his stepchildren, Autumn McDonough, Lucas, Justin, Natalie York, Abigail (Israel), Olivia, Graham Chance and Raeanna Moomaw; and his great grandchildren, Nicola and Filomena Chance Buffardi. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
