He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gladden E. Scott and Ethel M. Scott (Downing); his significant other Laura E. Knight; his siblings, Linda S. Caldwell and Carl Scott; his children, Kathy Walsh (Carl), Dennis Scott (Tammy) and Susan Whitehead (Michael); his sister Rita Silcox; and his grandchildren, Michael Pimpare, Michelle Wakefield, Joshua Huff, Dylan Scott, Curtis Huff, Zachary Scott and Laura Huff. He was also cherished by nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
