John L Amato Obituary
We are sad to announce that on January 6, 2023, at the age of 90, John L Amato of Kennebunk, Maine, born in Portland, Maine passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Dominic Amato and Mary Amato (Maiorano); his wife Jeanne Amato (Charland); his grandchildren, Michelle Amato, Frederick Tilton of Boxford, MA, Cyndi Amato, Steve Wilson, Jacqueline Tilton (Joey Bonarrigo) of Brooklyn, NY and Michael Tilton (Maureen Cottrell) of Dedham, MA.; and his siblings, Michelina O'Brien (Amato) of Portland, ME and Leonardo Amato (Jane). He was also cherished by his wife of 65 years, their two daughters and spouses.
On their 65th Anniversary, while quarantined because of COVID, they made sure to share a glass of champagne.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John can be made to the University of Maine Alumni Association.
