He was predeceased by: his father Lawrence Shaffer; his brother Richard Shaffer; and his stepfather Ernie Hannon. He is survived by: his mother Donna Hannon Palmer of Livermore; his siblings, Randy Shaffer (Jane) of Portland, Teri Sherrets (Steve) of North Monmouth, Jim Shaffer and Christie Shaffer; and his significant other Tammy Winter Capen of Jay. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
