He was predeceased by: his parents, Donicio Benitez and Juana Benitez Luyando; his sons, Richard Rosado and Ruben Rosado; and his sisters, Maria Luisa Luyando and Mercedes Benitez.
He is survived by: his wife Maria T. Torres; his children, Julio Benitez Jr, Betsy Benitez, Mirna Mills (Josian Diaz), Maria Rosado and Betsy Torres (April Aponte); his siblings, Donicio Benitez, Jr. and Lydia Benitez; his grandchildren, Jessy Rivera, Luis Rivera, Jeyris Agosto, Xavier Marquez, Christopher Marquez, Tania Rosado, Uziel Rosado and Ruben Rosado, Jr; and his nieces and nephews, Carlos Torres and Damaris Torres. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
