He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Smith and Eve Smith (Anderson); his wife Rachel Russell; his sister-in-law Dorthea Smith of Monticello; and his siblings, Reginald (Clair), Ervin, Shirley, Leta Bouchard and Joyce Craig.
He is survived by: his daughter Annette Svitek (David) of Monticello; and his brothers-in-law, Temp Russell of Minnesota and Frank Russell of Houlton. He is also survived by three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
