He was predeceased by: his father Carl Smith; and his brothers, Earl Smith, Frank Smith, Lee Smith and Carl Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Smith (Moynihan); his stepchildren, Conor McNamee (Koren) of Banning, CA, Maureen McNamee and Anna Philbrick (Peter) of Spring Mills, PA; his siblings, Kerry Smith of Saco, Clifford Smith of Hollis, Helen Smith of Hollis, June Lavoie of Kennebunk and Sandra Constant of Westbrook; his grandchildren, Ashlie, Gavin, Emma, Gabriella, Charlise, Arden, Adeleigh and Noelle; and his great grandchild Ivy. He is also survived by 33 nieces and nephews and many, many great nieces and nephews.
