He was predeceased by: his son Daryl Whitney; and his siblings, Lester Whitney and Louise Keene. He is survived by: his parents, Walter E. and Orasie L. Whitney (Lapointe); his spouse Patricia Whitney; his children, Brent L. Whitney (Diane) of Ellsworth, Cheryl Worcester (Cliff) of Dedham and Stacey Burnett (Scott) of Hermon; his grandchildren, Josh, Daniel, Cassandra, Brooke, Meghan, Brianne, Catrina, Paige and Walter; his great grandchildren, Jaden, Jhace, Josh, Khloe and Dominic; his siblings, Marcelle Whitney (Winifred) of Bar Harbor, Aline Patterson (Hal) of Illinois and Daniel Whitney of Bangor; and his sister-in-law Phyllis Whitney. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Walter in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the Samuel Alexander Memorial Endowment, or to the Lafayette Family Cancer Center.
