He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis C. Giles and Velma Giles Sr. (Arey); his wife Dorothy; his daughter Suzanne Giles; and his siblings, Kathleen, Florence, Shirley, Lucille, Geneva, Stanley, Robert and Frank.

He is survived by: his son Lewis C. Giles IV; his grandchildren, Jason Card of Greenville, Lewis C. Giles V of Hampden and Audra Giles of Bangor; and his siblings-in-law, Helen Giles of Hampden, Jesse Giles of Newburgh and Ralph Staples of Bangor. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
