He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Caldwell and Alix Caldwell (Searle); his wife Elizabeth Eames; his siblings, Deborah of Augusta and John, Jr. of Howick; and his foster daughter Hope Cady. He was also cherished by nephews, nieces, stepchildren.
