It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sandra Taylor Knowles (Gorham, Maine), who passed away on August 20, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her friends, Tom Cole, Angela and Allison; her mother Barbara; her brother Robert Mansfield Knowles (Cathy); her niece Jessica; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Amy Whitcomb Slemmer, Katherine Mansfield (Roland), Robert Weston Slemmer (Paige) and James Francis Laprade (R. Thomas Lutzy); her goddaughter Elizabeth Anderson Allgaier (Rich); her grandchildren, Cynthia, Robbie, Molly, Andrew, Nanie (Delia) and Bobby (Henry); her husband Bill; her father Robert; her daughter Amy Whitcomb Slemmer; and also Caroline (White House).
She survived COVID and proudly lined up for her first vaccine and booster shots at Gillette Stadium grateful for the life-saving signs of the advancement of science. COVID also required the redesign of the planned giant celebration of her 80th birthday.
In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to support the ministries of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Cohasset, MA and the St. Stephens Youth Program in Boston.
