He is survived by: his wife Anita Spaulding; his children, Nathan Herbert (Amy) of Otisfield, Kami Axelsen (Neal) of Saco and Devin of Auburn; his grandchildren, Jacob, Zachary, Ryan, Haylee, Elise, Sadine, Livia and Hunter; his siblings, Judy Ducharme (Gerry), Darrell Herbert (Jane), Greg Herbert (Sandy), Cheryl Leconte (Kevin) and Wendy Herbert; and his sisters-in-law, Margaret Herbert and Kathy Herbert. He is also survived by 41 nieces and nephews, and many friends.
