He was predeceased by: his wife Ellen; his parents, George Stirr and Eva Stirr; and his siblings, John, Fred (Rose), Bill (Ruby), Steve, Kay Owatz (Peter), Mary Gettle (Fonse), Margaret Olsen (Clifford), Anne Hornsberger (Joe) and Virginia Pinel.

He is survived by: his children, Linda and Greg (Cheryl); his grandchildren, Christopher and Kayla (Jason); and his sibling Helen Forbes. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
