With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lorraine L. Jonassen of Gorham, Maine, born in Caribou, Maine, who passed away on July 6, 2020 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Abel LeVasseur and Eva LeVasseur; and her husband Norman E. Jonassen. She is survived by: her sisters, Gloria LeVasseur, Doris Oliver-Meehan and Marcella LeVasseur; her son-in-law Merton S. Bessey Jr.; her children, Ellen Bessey of Gorham, Lars Jonassen (Sandra) of Albion and Kevan Jonassen (April) of Suffolk, VA; her grandchildren, Anthony Bessey (Renee) of Westbrook, Jill Lakin (Jeremy) of Windham, Kelly Hanscom (Mark) of Oakland, Keith (Danielle) of Clinton, MA, Buddy White and Ian Jonassen of Suffolk; and her great grandchildren, Alexandria Lakin (Lexie), Madilyn Bessey, Annabelle, Reese Hanscom, Calum and Marin Jonassen. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
