She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward L. Bowden and Gladys M. Bowden (Damon); her sister Barbara; her brother-in-law Paul S. LaFontaine of Greene; her nephew Dale LaFontaine; her great-nephew Paul LaFontaine; her sister Virgie; her brother-in-law Orville D. Sanborn; her sister Lucy Fowler; her nephew Tom Fowler of Brooksville; and her siblings-in-law, Dwight Blodgett of Brewer and Muriel Atwater.
She is survived by: her husband Lt. James F. Garland; her daughter Julianne G. Sharp of Dover, NH; her grandchildren, Luca J. Sharp of Gorham, ME and Caleb G; her sisters, Gladys M. Blodgett of Brewer and Norma J. Barrett of Turner; her siblings-in-law, Ann Linke, Roy Fowler of Brooksville and Reb Barrett of Turner; and her nieces and nephews, Debbie of Sedgewick, Jackie of Bucksport, Marnie of Jay, Bonnie, Mardel, Jeff of Glenburn, Chris of Waterville, Nancy of Turner, Charles Jr. of Lewiston, Robin of Turner, Lisa, Scott, Karen, Sandy, Donna, Patricia, Marcia and Bruce.
