He was predeceased by: his parents, Earle Dort and Carolyn Dort; his brother James Dort; his nephew David Dort; and his sisters-in-law, Martha Patterson and Marsha Verhille.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Dill of Gardiner; his children, Thomas Jr. of Winthrop and Bree Dort of Bar Harbor; his brother-in-law Fred Dill (Barbara); and his pet Pepper.
