He is survived by: his wife Claire; his children, Lisa Gattermann and Kara Henschel; his grandchildren, Ashley, Trevor Henschel of Lovell and Brianna Thurston of Fryeburg; his stepgrandchild Jordan Gatterman of Pennsylvania; and also, Joe Gattermann of Fryeburg and Mark Henschel of Lovell.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donald's name to the Fryeburg New Church or the Fryeburg Rescue.
