He was predeceased by: his parents, Roland Spalding and Esther Spalding (Amsden); and his sister Carolyn Lahanas of Harvard, MA. He is survived by: his wife Sue Spalding (Crabtree); his sons, Sam Spalding (Carrie Lewis) of Alexandria, VA and Andy Spalding (Katelyn) of Cumberland Foreside, ME; and his granddaughter Eleanor "Ellie" Spalding of Cumberland Foreside. He is also survived by five nephews and nieces.
