He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard W. Shaw and Norma E. Shaw (Ward). He is survived by: his former wife Carrie C. Achorn; his wife Carrie C. Shaw of Fort Fairfield; his sons, Samuel A. Shaw (Ivy) of Jacksonville, FL, Matthew Shaw of San Diego, CA and Stephen S. Shaw II of Hallowell; his stepchildren, Justin T. Kinney of Fort Fairfield, David E. Ferrier of Chattanooga, TN, Margo S. Ferrier of Fort Fairfield and Mallory S. Lagasse (John) of Perham; his sisters, Susan (Carson Nile) and Sara (Mike Hardy); his grandchildren, Dylan of San Diego, CA and Devon Shaw of San Diego, CA; his stepgrandchildren, Blake R. Soucy of Fort Fairfield, Hailey of Perham and Ryan Lagasse of Perham; his niece Emily Hardy of Hermon; and his close friend David Edgecomb of Fort Fairfield.
