It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carl Smith Sr. of Fort Fairfield, Maine, born in Caribou, Maine, who passed away on January 24, 2021, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Smith and Hannah Roberts (Smith); his stepfather Fred Roberts; his daughters, Cheryl L. Smith and Beth Ann Tardie (Smith); and his siblings, Glenwood W. Smith and Sharon Brown.
He is survived by: his grandson Jayson; his wife Shirley J. Smith of Caribou; his son Carl E. Jr.; his daughter-in-law Wanda Smith of Fort Fairfield; his sister Deleen; his brother-in-law Lendall Johnson of North Carolina; his grandchildren, Derek Boudreau (Meagan) of Fort Fairfield, Carl E. Smith III of Fort Fairfield, Crystal Smith (Peter Gardner) of Presque Isle and Daniel Kaiser (Heather) of Presque Isle; and his great grandchildren, Kerie of Presque Isle, Dean Kaiser of Presque Isle, Jayson Simonds of Presque Isle, Josh Gardner of Presque Isle and Harper Gardner. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
