She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Donald Edward Comeau and Alice Evelyn Lee; her brothers, Donald, Douglass and Philip; her husband John VanDerwerken; her children, Alice VanDerwerken (David Sprague) of Rome, Roger VanDerwerken (Jacque) of Escondido, CA and Mark VanDerwerken of Central Bridge, NY; her daughter-in-law Anna Vanderwerken of Central Bridge, NY; her grandchildren, Christina Fuller (James) of Oceanside, CA, Rebecca O'Hare (Ryan) of Albany, NY, Beth Hernandez (Blad) of Valley Center, CA, Jordan VanDerwerken (Manuela) of New Orleans, LA, Robert VanDerwerken of Central Bridge, NY and John VanDerwerken (Mattea) of Central Bridge, NY; and her sister-in-law Jackie Comeau of St. George, Utah. She was also cherished by many nieces, nephews and special friends.
