He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Verrill and Phyllis Verrill (Sherman); his son William D. Verrill Jr.; and his brother Merton B. Verrill. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ann Blanchard; his son Jeffrey S. Verrill (Suzanne M. Verrill); his granddaughter Stacy L. Verrill; his great grandchildren, Dillan W. Verrill, Hazel Verrill, Riley Verrill and Baylee Verrill; and his sister Stella I. Pierce (Ted Clarke).
Volunteered for the Bath-Brunswick American Cancer Society for 10 years and was privileged to have served as its treasurer, vice chairman, and state chairman of the American Cancer Society-Maine Division.
