He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Paul Getchell and Greta Getchell; his siblings, Sandra Harrell, Susan Bloom, John Getchell and Joan Waldron; his children, Carrie LeBlanc (Robert LeBlanc), Amy Safford (Jonathan Safford), Todd Getchell (Sharon Getchell) and Nathaniel Getchell (Holly O'Reilly); his grandchildren, Sophie, Nathaniel, Isaac, Claire, William, Thomas and Olivia; and also, Colette, Lucienne, Miles and Oliver.
