He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Eugene Bevan Tansey and Elizabeth Nelson Alden Tansey; and his nephew Michael Tansey. He is survived by: his wife Darlene Caron Tansey; his siblings, Barbara J. Poulin, Marilyn T. Hamm and J. Alden Tansey (Daria); his daughters, Lisa S. Tansey and Heather L. Hatch; his grandson Matthew Hatch; his stepson Shane A. Gagne; his grandsons, Parker and Kyle Gagne; his stepdaughter Tara L. Bradstreet (Dan); his stepgrandsons, Justin Martin (Maddy) and Nathan Martin (Haley); his granddaughter Arianna Bradstreet; and also Peter Bland.
