He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas O. Mitchell and Marion Mitchell (Hersey); and his daughter Katie Monighetti Mitchell. He is survived by: his wife Mary E. Brown; his children, Troy Mitchell of Bangor, Bret Mitchell of Ellsworth and Lisa Marie Brace (Jacob); his grandchildren, Madeline Mitchell of Ellsworth and Oliver Mitchell of Bangor; and his siblings, Thomas Mitchell, Robert Mitchell (Lola) and Nancy McFarlane (Peter). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
