Betty enjoyed a variety of activities: growing up in Maysville neighborhood, attending an 8-grade country school, picking potatoes for 26 cents/barrel, living on Beacon Street and attending Red Sox baseball games for 50 cents (bleacher), bike packing, playing tennis, snowshoeing, kayaking, cleaning ditches in Acadia National Park, biking/hiking in ANP, playing handbells, gardening, knitting/sewing for donation, and volunteering for Ellsworth organizations.
