Rita Nichols Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rita Nichols of Eliot, Maine, born in Concord, New Hampshire, who passed away on November 16, 2021 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Edmund and Dianna Antonia Desmarais (LeBrun); her husband Donald of Augusta; her son Stephen of North Anson; and her sisters, Bernadette Martel and Pauline Wimsatt.
She is survived by: her friend Bill Rollins of Augusta; her siblings, Roger Desmarais (Betty) of Bow, NH and Claire DiCicco (Al) of Hooksett, NH.; her grandchildren, Staci Short, Ryan Short, Nicole Lamphere, Mark Nichols, Caroline Phillips, Laura Phillips, Jack Nichols, Will Nichols, Reid Nichols, Sarah Hannebury, Ian Nichols and Camden Nichols; and her great grandchild Eliot Cushman. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, four godchildren, and many cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Rita's memory may be made to the Natural Resources Council of Maine (NRCM) for their work to protect the Great North Woods.
