He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Mitchell and Mabel Mitchell (Adams); his wife Kathleen Elizabeth MacEwen of Orrington; his son Warren; and his siblings, Raymond, Charles, Francis (Buster), Gloria, Mavis and Hildred.
He is survived by: his children, Mary L. Damboise of Corinna and Norman Mitchell (Susan) of Otis; his grandchildren, Jan Kendrick, Joe McAlpine, Rebecca Copeland (Gerald Gould), Staci Kothman (Brian), Wendi Mitchell-Mooney (James) and Ben Mitchell (Samantha); his great grandchildren, Nicolas, Amber, Emily, Jack, Madi, Hunter, Tucker, Turner, Luciana and Charlotte; and his great great grandchildren, Josie, Arianna, Madison, Wesley, Charlie and Lilly.
